Biology MSc

We expect the great scientific breakthroughs of the 21st century to come from biology, and today’s students need to be prepared for this. During the two years of the Master’s program, students gain in-depth knowledge with a focus on balancing theoretical and practical training, as Master’s graduates are increasingly entering the industry. Candidates should have a strong interest in solving biological problems, and good communication skills and proficiency in English are advantageous.

Our program is unique in Hungary, covering almost the entire spectrum of biological sciences from the molecular to the supra-individual level, including laboratory-intensive subjects, theoretical biology, and bioinformatics.

The scientific expertise of the Institute of Biology ensures that all specialized subjects are taught by faculty actively researching within the field. Our goal is to develop students with broad knowledge in biology and deep expertise in specific subfields, aligning with industry expectations. This goal is supported by the growing focus on biotechnology and the creation of a bioinformatics specialization. English proficiency is increasingly emphasized in biology education, so our courses are offered exclusively in English. We encourage students to work independently and provide additional training in statistics and information technology to enhance their success in the job market.
