Ceremonial Opening of the Academic Year at the Faculty of Science, Eötvös Loránd University

The ceremonial opening of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Faculty of Science of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) will take place on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, in the Gömb Aula of the Pázmány Péter sétány 1/A building.

On this occasion, Dr. Imre Kacskovics, Dean of the Faculty of Science, will formally welcome the new students as members of the university community with a ceremonial handshake. The event will also include the freshmen’s solemn oath, in which they pledge to acquire scientific knowledge at the highest level, to enhance the reputation of the University through their conduct and academic achievements, and to use the knowledge gained for the benefit of society and humanity.
