Dean Imre Kacskovics represented our faculty at the Pujiang Innovation Forum in Shanghai

Hungary was the guest of honor at the 17th Pujiang Innovation Forum, held in Shanghai from September 7 to 10. As part of the program, Hungary showcased not only its scientific and innovation sectors but also its culture and gastronomy, celebrating the 75th anniversary of Hungarian-Chinese diplomatic relations. Our faculty was represented at this grand event by Imre Kacskovics, Dean of the Faculty of Science at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE).

The Pujiang Innovation Forum brought together numerous high-ranking professionals from around the world who are interested in the innovation sector, including government representatives, innovators, and renowned researchers. The Hungarian delegation included invited members such as Imre Kacskovics, Dean of the Faculty of Science at ELTE; Charaf Hassan, Rector of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics; Péter Galambos, Vice-Rector of Óbuda University; Károly Pető, Vice-Rector of the University of Debrecen; Péter Ferdinandy, Vice-Rector of Semmelweis University;  Ádám Kiss, President of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO), László Lengyel, Vice President of NRDIO, Zsuzsanna Szabados, Vice President of NRDIO, Borbála Schenk, Head of the International Department at NRDIO, and Viktor Lázár, Professional Secretary of the Presidential Cabinet at NRDIO. They represented the Hungarian academic and research spheres in the Hungarian delegation, which consisted of around 30 experts, including policymakers, scientists, corporate and university leaders. As part of the professional program, the members of the Hungarian delegation visited several key locations of Chinese scientific and innovation life, including notable university and research infrastructures.

As part of the forum, Hungary also organized a special sub-forum, which focused on healthy living and presented Hungarian medical and health science research and innovations. This is one of the key areas of the government's innovation strategy package, the Neumann János Program. At this event, Imre Kacskovics, Dean of our Faculty, presented the outstanding scientific achievements of the Faculty of Science as well as its strategic goals aimed at developing and enhancing its innovation activities. The program provided an excellent opportunity for building professional connections and learning about best practices.
