Geology MSc

The aim of the program is to train geologists with a geological mindset and adequate theoretical and practical knowledge. Graduates are familiar with the principles and methods required for the exploration of metallic and non-metallic mineral resources, hydrocarbons, and groundwater reserves. Equipped with scientifically grounded environmental awareness and techniques, they are capable of solving non-routine tasks in environmental and water management. Based on their qualifications, they are prepared to continue their studies in a doctoral program.
The ideal candidate possesses strong visual expression skills, color and spatial perception, and is not deterred by independent fieldwork. They are creative, hardworking, have exceptional learning and information-processing abilities, and are committed to systematic, high-quality work. They are capable of collaboration, participating in teamwork, and processing international, primarily English-language professional literature.

Career opportunities
The most outstanding graduates find employment at university research centers and other research institutions or laboratories both in Hungary and abroad. Graduates with a strong interest in practical work can apply for positions at domestic and international mineral exploration companies, oil corporations, and a significant number of geologists secure jobs annually in the fields of hydrogeology and environmental geology.
