Meteorology MSc

The aim of the program is to train highly skilled professionals who view their work as a vocation and possess a meteorological mindset along with advanced theoretical and practical knowledge. Graduates are well-equipped to excel both in meteorological services and specialized research. They are proficient in applying practical, measurement- and observation-oriented investigative methods, as well as the procedures required for weather and climate modeling and forecasting. They can creatively address even non-routine operational and research tasks.
Graduates are prepared to design, organize, and execute high-level scientific research tasks in meteorology and climatology. The ideal candidate is dedicated to exploring and forecasting atmospheric processes, weather, and climate phenomena, and possesses strong mathematical, physical, and computational skills to support these endeavors.

The Hungarian Meteorological Service, the Hungarian Military and the private meteorological sector are major employers of our graduates. Furthermore, a large number of graduates continue their research as PhD students at various universities in Europe.
The degree enables the students to understand and forecast weather events, to be able to use and visualize results of climate and weather forecast models, and to assess model results and measurements of related fields to meteorology.
