Physics MSc

The Master’s program aims to train physicists capable of recognizing physical laws underlying fundamental natural phenomena, conducting scientific-quality experimental studies of these phenomena, and providing theoretical interpretations. Graduates are prepared to join research teams in basic or applied science, operate high-level industrial, IT, and measurement systems based on physical laws and advanced technologies, and work in specialized areas of physics-related computing. They acquire skills in processing new scientific findings, creatively applying them, designing, executing, and evaluating experiments, and formulating scientific problems in physics and related fields. Graduates are also equipped to fill independent and leadership roles in sectors utilizing scientific insights or methodologies in physics (e.g., technical administration, environmental protection).

Through examples in the inanimate natural sciences, the program deepens students' understanding of measuring, modeling, and verifying models of natural phenomena, ensuring they acquire essential knowledge in physics, mathematics, IT, and electronics. Our programs also explore applying research methodologies in other scientific fields, such as biology, finance, and social behavior. We welcome applicants who already have foundational knowledge in physics and mathematics and wish to advance in these areas, deepening their methodological knowledge and learning to apply these skills in practice.

Language of Instruction

The program is offered in both Hungarian and English.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Master's program may continue their studies in doctoral programs in physics or other disciplines, or find positions in domestic and international laboratories conducting scientific research, as well as in industrial companies engaged in applied research. Thanks to the program, many of our graduates have secured roles as mid- and senior-level managers in the research divisions of international companies (finance, telecommunications) within both the private and public sectors.
