The Faculty of Science of Eötvös Loránd University is the largest institution in the country, where all of the natural sciences are represented at the highest level. The Faculty operates six internationally recognized doctoral schools, which currently employ 555 young research candidates, 96 of whom are foreign doctoral students. You can apply to the Doctoral School of Biology, Physics, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, or György Hevesy Chemistry until May 31 this year.

The intellectual capital accumulated in the doctoral schools of the Faculty of Science is a unique opportunity for our students to expand their knowledge, to exploit their individual resources, and thus to meet the requirements of the knowledge-intensive information society. The Faculty has six doctoral schools, within which a number of doctoral programs await applicants. The old type of doctoral training has a training period of 3 years, from September 2016 only new, 4-year doctoral training can be admitted.

Application deadline for doctoral training at the Faculty of Science of the Eötvös Loránd University: May 31, 2021.

EXCITING RESEARCH, UNIQUE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Our current lecturers include many professors with Széchenyi Prizes, Albert Szent-Györgyi Prizes or other significant scientific awards. Our courses cover the full spectrum of natural sciences. In our doctoral schools, there are many talented students studying and researching, many of whom have run outstanding careers. Many of our former PhD students are now leading an Momentum, ERC application, for example. Below we now present some outstanding researchers who have obtained their PhD degrees at the Faculty of Science of Eötvös Loránd University.
