Micromechanical properties of metals

My research is primarily focusing on the physics of plastic deformation at small scales with a special emphasis on collective dislocation dynamics and stochastic phenomena. To this end, numerical and experimental methods are employed, such as discrete and continuum modelling of dislocations, statistical physics and experimental techniques related to the investigation of dislocation dynamics and microstructure, such as micromechanics, high resolution electron backscatter diffraction (HR-EBSD), acoustic emission and X-ray diffraction.
