Main research areas
Plant photobiology
Our research, applying mainly spectroscopic methods, focuses on a key step in chlorophyll biosynthesis, the photoconversion of protochlorophyllide into chlorophyllide.
The main goal of our work is to investigate the organ- and tissue-specific ratios of protochlorophyllide complexes in different aggregational states and to clarify their role in greening, plastid development and photosensitivity of angiosperm seedlings.
In collaborations, we deal with several projects to follow quantitative changes of fluorescent dye labelled or autofluorescent molecules.
