Main research areas
Polyelectrolyte/surfactant association
It has been proven that, within a given composition range, homopolyelectrolyte/surfactant systems are trapped in a charge-stabilized colloidal dispersion state. Based on this concept, new methods for preparing stable dispersions of polyelectrolyte/surfactant nanoparticles with controllable properties are being developed.
Water-based Structured Liquids
It has been established that interactions between oppositely charged polyelectrolytes and mixed surfactants can be confined within an oil/water interface region, leading to interfacial films with adjustable permeability, as well as structured, reconfigurable liquids where the shape of one of the liquid phases is locked. Using similar principals water based structured liquids are being developed.
