Data mining in large biological databases

In recent decades, data mining has become a fundamentally important area of scientific research. Different data mining tools and approaches have been applied with considerable success in sociology, social and actuarial sciences, financial mathematics, physics or even ethology. In several cases, these researches led to groundbreaking new results that could completely change our thinking about the subjects of the previously mentioned projects. Regarding the goals of my research, my motivation is to identify relevant results in large biological databases using mathematical data mining methods and tools.
