My research focuses on the development and automation of advanced in vitro models, with an emphasis on their quantitative analysis. Both biological barrier layers and 3D tissue models—such as spheroids and organoids—play a central role in my work, as they enable a more accurate investigation of tissue organization, molecular transport, and cellular responses. These experimental systems are complemented by automated microscopy and computational tissue modeling, enhancing our understanding of in vitro systems and improving their predictive value. My goal is to create integrated platforms that reliably support the needs of modern biomedical research and drug development.
