My main area of interest is the role of the social environment and social learning in the ontogeny of different behaviours. During my doctoral studies, I investigated the ontogenetic mechanisms of sex roles using the zebra finch as model animal in my laboratory experiments.

As a member of the Neuroethology of Communication Lab, I study the voice- and speech processing abilities of dogs, applying behavioural and neuroimaging (EEG) methods.
