Conservation and the related ecological, faunistic and taxonomic research of grasshoppers (order Orthoptera) in Europe

Grasshoppers are worldwide distributed peculiar insects inhabiting mainly terrestrial habitats, and playing an important ecological role in their habitat. More than a quarter of their species in Europe are threatened by extinction according to the IUCN, but are poorly studied in some parts of the continent. Taxonomic, faunistic and ecological studies are needed to provide a basis for effective conservation of these threatened species. I conduct taxonomic, faunistic and ecological studies in the Carpatho-Pannonian Region and in some understudied areas of the Mediterranean (Balkan Peninsula, Pyrenean Peninsula), to provide a basis for their conservation, as well as do conservation activities for them.
