Statistical field theory of dislocations
Dislocations are line defects in crystalline materials whose movement is responsible for plastic deformation. The main goal of my research area is to develop a continuum theory that starts from the properties of individual dislocations but operates with continuous densities. Such a theory can play an important role in the design of various devices in engineering practice.
