My research primarily focuses on animal-robot interactions. Our aim is to identify behaviours that facilitate the acceptance of an artificial agent as social partner in long-term social interactions. Our findings also contribute to the design of the behaviour of social robots capable of engaging in communicative and cooperative interactions with human and non-human animals. The animal-robot interaction framework provides a unique methodological approach to investigate animal behaviour and cognition from a novel perspective, increasing objectivity of behaviour studies. We carry out comparative research of family dogs, cats and humans.
