Main research areas
High energy heavy ion physics
The focus of my research is experimental and phenomenological high energy heavy ion physics. I am a member of the PHENIX and STAR collaborations at Brookhaven National Laboratory, where I study identified particle production, in particular, measurements of femtoscopic two- and many-particle correlation functions. Such measurements unveil the space-time structure of particle production, and bring the answers to the main questions (such as the existence of the critical endpoint, the precise collision energy needed for the formation of the quark-gluon plasma) closer. My theoretical work is connected to the precision description of Bose-Einstein correlations, and to the hydrodynamical description of particle production.
