Main research areas
Climate change
I focus on several specific topics within climatology. One of my main research interests includes regional climate modelling via downscaling global climate models, in addition, I analyze hydrological impacts of climate change. Another focus of my research activities is related to extremes, namely, the statistical analysis of weather and climate extremes as well, as compound events. Further key topic is the research of Mediterranean cyclones reaching the Carpathian basin. I analyze climatic teleconnections on global scale, and the climatic impacts of urban areas on finer scale, with special focus on the urban heat island effect using different approaches.
