HIV dynamics

I create and analyze mathematical (ODE) and computational models of the within-host dynamics of HIV infection.

Modelling HIV epidemics

I occasionally work on simulation models of HIV epidemics, focusing on the early spread of the virus.

HIV data analysis

I analyze viral genomic data, and clinical and demographic data of HIV infected patients to elucidate the patterns of the transmission and evolution of the pathogen.

COVID-19 data analysis

I analyze patterns of mortality in the COVID-19 epidemic.

Evolutionary hypotheses on infectious and noninfectious disease

I have developed evolutionary hypotheses and scenarios related to infectious and noninfectious diseases, and to the origins of adaptive immunity.
