Adsorption and Desorption of Pharmaceutically Active Compounds in Soils

Irrigation and soil fertilisation by sewage sludges cause accumulation of Pharmaceutilally Active Compounds in soils. Adsorption and desorption of these compounds is affected by the properties of the solid phase of the soils, environmental factors and the intrinsic properties of the molecules. Our activities focus on each of these aspects in terms of ploughing techniques and land use.

The role of landuse on the carbon sequestration

The top metre of pedosphere have higher organic carbon content than the total amount of carbon in the atmosphere and terrestrial ecosystems. The efficiency of carbon sequestration is affected by land use. Our activities focus on the relationship between land use and mechanisms of stabilisation mechanisms.
